The following is an update on some good, old-fashioned roller derby!
Our pal and friend of the show Devon Scott is a part of this….

August 15th, 2012 (Indianapolis, IN) In keeping with the spirit of the Indiana State Fair, the Naptown Roller Girls (NRG) are taking it outside to the grandstand this Friday for an intra-league showdown!

The event, presented by Compton Strategies, will feature members of the Naptown Warning Belles and Third Alarm. Fans are invited to come to the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand at the Indiana State Fair. Gates will open at 6:00 PM with the event beginning at 7:00 PM. Best of all, admission to this bout is free with fair admission!

“We have had a great relationship with the Indiana State Fairgrounds since our league’s beginning,” says spokeswoman Devon Scott (“Peyton Slamming”). “Indiana is home to dozens of roller derby teams. We feel like the State Fair is the perfect place to showcase our statewide passion for the sport.”

Tickets for the Indiana State Fair are $10 at the gates for adults. Children five & under are free. Discount tickets are available for $7 at Indiana Wal-Mart stores, CVS stores, Indiana Farm Bureau Offices, the Marten House Hotel, and the State Fairgrounds Ticket Office.

The league is thrilled to be teamed up again with locally-based promotions company Compton Strategies for this event. Compton assisted the league with promotion of the first-ever roller derby bout at Bankers Life Fieldhouse back on April 20th.

“NRG events remind me quite a bit of the old Indianapolis Ice – they’re fast and exciting. They’ve drawn great crowds at the Pepsi Coliseum and this is another opportunity to really expand their fan base, ” said Ray Compton, President of Compton Strategies.
